County Administration
County Administrator
The County Administrator executes policies established by the Board of Supervisors or mandated by the Commonwealth of Virginia, represents the Board in County matters, and reports directly to the Board of Supervisors.
Karen Mullins assumed the role of Interim County Administrator in December, 2025.
Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for management of the County's financial matters including the preparation and administration of the annual County budget and annual financial audit.
County Attorney
The County Attorney represents and advises the County in legal matters.
Economic Development & Grants Supervisor
The Economic Development Supervisor is responsible for Wise County's business development and retention efforts. This position also jointly oversees the county's Marketing & Community Development office.
Industrial Development Supervisor
The Industrial Development Supervisor is responsible for supporting existing industry and new industrial development efforts in Wise County. This position also provides staff support to the Wise County Industrial Development Authority and jointly oversees the county's Marketing & Community Development office.
Executive Administrative Assistant to the County Administrator & County Attorney

Staff Accountant - Payroll, Benefits Administration, Human Resources
The Financial Management Assistant is responsible for the County's payroll, benefits administration, and other human resources duties.
Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable
The Staff Accountant is responsible for processing the County's accounts payable and maintaining financial records to track the County’s assets, liabilities, and other related financial activities.
