What
is the Southwest Virginia Children's Advocacy Center?
The Southwest Virginia Children's Advocacy Center (SVCAC)
is based upon a concept that has been adopted nationwide.
The overall goal of the Children's Advocacy Center is to
coordinate and combine the efforts of several different
entities in order to more effectively prevent child abuse
and to intervene effectively prevent child abuse and to
intervene effectively when child abuse occurs.
The SVCAC is currently in the planning stages. A Task
Force is currently working on obtaining funding from the
General Assembly and through state and federal grants to
implement the first phase of the SVCAC.
