The
Wise County Board of Supervisors met in a Special Called
Meeting on Thursday, June 7, 2001, for the purpose of discussing
the proposed FY 2001-02 County Budget and to authorize the
advertisement of both the County and School budgets.

RE: SPECIAL
CALLED MEETING
Attorney
Mullins advised that since all Board members, the County
Attorney, and the press is present, the Special Called Meeting
can proceed earlier than anticipated.
The general public does not have to be notified of
a Special Called Meeting, only the press.
The time of the Special Called Meeting will have
to be changed accordingly on the notification to the press
with all members signing the "Waiver" sheet with the time
change.

RE: PROPOSED
FY 2001-02 BUDGET REVIEW
Administrator
Edward Sealover reviewed the proposed FY 2001-02 County
Budget with a suggested general fund spending of $32,162,443
that includes a transfer of $1,888,397.00 to the newly created
Enterprise Fund. It
also features a new line item reserved for emergencies/contingency
in the amount of $85,000. This
line item will be a part of the annual budget outside of
the undesignated, unreserved fund balance.
In the Enterprise Fund, the proposed amount totals
$2,808,797 that includes the aforementioned general fund
transfer. The proposed budget leaves an ending general fund
balance of $4,684,497.98
and includes a 2.5% salary increase for both F/T and P/T
County employees.

RE: ADVERTISEMENT
/ PROPOSED COUNTY FY 2001-02
A motion
was made by Jeff Salyers, seconded by Donnie Dowell, to
hold a public hearing on Friday, June 22, 2001, at 12:00
noon to receive citizens' input regarding the proposed FY
2001-02 County/School Budget.
The motion was unanimously approved.
ADJOURN
There
being no further business, a motion was made by Bob Adkins,
seconded by Jeff Salyers, to adjourn the meeting.
