Wise County Board of Supervisors met in a regular meeting
on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors
meeting room located in the Wise County courthouse.

There
was no one to speak during public expression.

HIGHWAYS
Highway
Engineer T. G. Branson gave an update on bridge construction
in Norton and Big Stone Gap.
Board
members presented several concerns in their districts for
review by Mr. Branson.

A
motion was made by Barry Nelson to approve the consent agenda
as follows:
The
motion was seconded by Jeff Salyers, and unanimously approved
by the Board.

RE: PROPOSED ORDINANCE FOR EARLY PAYMENT OF TAXES
Set
a public hearing for August 7, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. on a proposed
ordinance implementing H 2715/Chapter 216:discount for early
payment of taxes.

RE: PROPOSED
E-911 ROAD NAMES
Set
a public hearing for August 7, 2003 at 6:00 P.M. on proposed
additional E-911 road names.

A
motion was made by Barry Nelson, seconded by Edgar Mullins,
to reappoint Arthur Dickenson to the Industrial Development
Authority. The motion was unanimously approved.

RE: APPOINTMENT-COMMUNITY
POLICY AND MANAGEMENT BOARD
A
motion was made by Jeff Salyers, seconded by Barry Nelson,
to appoint Jerrie Adams to fulfill the unexpired term of
Suzanne Lawson on the Community Policy and Management Board.
