Wise County Board of Supervisors met in an Organizational
meeting on Thursday, January 2, 2003, at 5:30 p.m. in the
Board of Supervisors meeting room located in the Wise County
courthouse. The

Bob Adkins led the Board in prayer.

IN RE: ELECTION OF TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN
Jeff
Salyers nominated Doug Stallard as temporary chairman.
Betty
Cornett seconded the nomination.
Edgar
Mullins nominated himself for temporary chairman.
There
was no seconded to Mr. Mullins nomination.
The
votes to elect Doug Stallard as temporary chairman were
as follows:

IN RE: ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN

Bob Adkins seconded the motion.
The motion was unanimously approved.
The
vote was unanimous for Betty Cornett as Vice-Chairman.
IN RE: TERM OF OFFICE
Jeff Salyers made a motion that
the term of office for the chairman and vice-chairman be
for one year. Virginia
Meador seconded the motion.
The motion was unanimously approved.
IN RE: ROBERTS RULES OF ORDER
A motion was made by Virginia Meador,
seconded by Betty Cornett, to adopt the Roberts Rules of
Order/Rules of Procedure as presented.
The motion was unanimously approved.
IN RE: TIME/DATE OF BOARD MEETINGS
A motion was made by Jeff Salyers,
seconded by Bob Adkins, to set the Workshop meeting at 6:00
p.m. on the first Thursday of each month and the Regular
meeting at 6:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.
The motion was unanimously approved.
IN RE: TIE VOTE SETTING METHOD
A motion was made by Edgar Mullins
that a tie votes means the vote fails.
Bob Adkins seconded the motion.
The motion was unanimously approved.
ADJOURN
A motion was made by Jeff Salyers,
seconded by Bob Adkins, to adjourn the meeting.
The motion was unanimously approved.
