RE: RESOLUTION
/R-O-W FOR RT 1005 (E 29TH STREET)
Mr.
Branson explained that there is 5 ft of property located
on 1005 East 29th Street in the Southern section
of Big Stone Gap that was erroneously built on by a property
owner during the construction of an addition to his house.
Mr. Branson stated that there is a 60 ft R-O-W dedicated
in a plat on that street which is sufficient.
He recommended that the 5 ft. piece of property from
the adjoining streets that face this property be sold to
the property owner.
In order to do this, it must first be declared as
surplus property by the Commonwealth Transportation Board.
A resolution regarding this request will be prepared
for Board approval at it's next meeting.
Board
members presented several complaints to Mr. Branson from
citizens in their districts.
They asked that he review them and report back at
the next meeting.
Board
members also voiced their appreciation for the guardrails
that have been installed in different areas of the County.
