EXPRESSION
Ben
Cooper, representing the Town of Appalachia, stated that
he was unable to attend the Workshop that was held by the
Board on Tuesday of this week regarding the landfill
tipping fee for the towns.
He voiced the Town of Appalachia's opposition to
a tipping fee that would not be fair and equitable for town
and county citizens. He asked to be notified if another workshop is held on this
matter.
There
being no further comments, the public expression period
was closed.

RE: WISE COUNTY
TOURISM COMMITTEE PRESENTATION
Geneva
O'Quinn with the Heart of Appalachia Tourism Authority,
spoke briefly on behalf of the Tourism Committee.
She gave a brief overview of the traveling expenses
of the Authority.
She explained that the Chairman of the Tourism Committee
had suggested that perhaps the Board of Supervisors could
contribute some funding toward a brochure or a web site
for the Tourism Committee from the Lodging Tax that could
be used as a promoting tool for Wise County.
Joyce
Payne, representing the Wise County Chamber of Commerce,
gave a brief overview of the Chambers activities and the
benefits that are reaped from their brochure.

HEARING/HOMETOWN PROPERTIES/REZONING
A public
hearing was duly advertised for this date to receive citizen's
comments regarding a rezoning request from David Wampler
representing Hometown Properties, to rezone property located
at l849 Wildcat Road for the purpose of operating a real
estate business.
There
being no one to speak regarding the rezoning request, the
public hearing was closed.

A public
hearing was duly advertised for this date to receive citizen's
comments regarding a rezoning request from Carroll Pannell
representing Pedro Trucking to rezone property located at
6410 West Main Street in the Glamorgan Section of Wise for
the purpose of building a garage for his trucking business.
There
being no one to speak regarding the rezoning request, the
